This Secondary IV course examines various procedures for deriving information from distributions of data.

Content:
- Collecting Data for a Statistical Survey;
- Characteristics of a Representative Sample for a Sample Survey;
- Identifying Sources of Bias that May Affect the Results of a Statistical Survey and the Interpreting Survey Results;
- Nature of the Data in a Distribution;
- Constructing a Frequency Table or a Relative Frequency Table;
- Arithmetic Mean, Median and Mode of a Distribution;
- Determining the Most Appropriate Measure of Central Tendency;
- Measures of Position: Quartiles, Quintales, Deciles and Percentiles;
- Stem-and-leaf Tables and Box-and-whisker Plots;
- Determining the Best Graph for a Distribution;
- Comparing Two Distributions on the Basis of Their Respective Graphs.
Evaluation:
A supervised ministerial examination in an adult education centre.
Passing mark: 60%
