This is the first in a series of three compulsory courses on geometry. In this course, learners learn basic concepts in geometry (angles, straight lines, polygons, etc.). They also learn to construct figures using a ruler, a set square, a compass and a protractor, and to use the Pythagorean Theorem.

• Categories of angles;

• Polygons;

• Measuring polygones;

• The Pythagorean Theorem;

• Special right triangles and the Pythagorean Theorem.

Evaluation:

A supervised ministerial examination in an adult education centre.

Passing mark: 60%
