CMP-5055-3 – Exploring Microcomputing Applications – 2nd Edition

This course is an overview of basic computer applications: word processing, drawing, spreadsheet, and database. The course also gives a general outline of how to integrate these different applications and how to manage document files. The learning guide focuses on the underlying logic common to most integrated software packages and operating systems. Therefore, learners will develop general computer skills while being supported in using the integrated software package of their choice.

Duration: 75 hours (3 units)

Each chapter includes a description of concepts, an explanation of the associated commands, where they can be found, and how they work, practice exercises, a suggested work method, a review activity and a self-check quiz.

Evaluation:

Course passing grade: 60%

Examination passing grade (local exam under supervision): 60%

The software used for the final exam should be the same that was used by the learner during the course. Otherwise a period of time for the learner to get used to the exam software should be granted.
