Forces and Energy is the last course in a series of three optional courses designed for adult learners who wish to complete the Secondary V Physics program, which is equivalent to the Physics 534 program in the youth sector. In this course, learners will use the experimental method to learn about dynamics (i.e. the study of forces) and the technical applications and social changes associated with developments in this branch of physics.

Duration: 50 hours (2 units)
Content:

• Concept of force;

• Gravity;

• Forces and motion;

• Motion, work, energy and energy conservation;

• Friction;

• Archimedes’ Principle;

• Deformation of a spring and pressure;

• Simple and compound machines.

Evaluation:
